While I'm a great admirer of the Shadow Project from Stone Island, often times the pieces are a little "over-designed" for my own tastes, and I find them harder to envision wearing than the mainline collection. This season's Mid-Length Jacket has recently caught my eye however, and it's easy to see how it might be a wearable and welcome fall option. The steel grey wool outer is paired nicely with a removable tan coloured liner – which can be used in any Shadow Project Shoulder Piece from the current, past or future collections.

Stone Island Shadow Project Insulator Vest

I find a lot of vests on the market to be too heavily filled, and they become too thick to wear under a jacket nicely. Stone Island Shadow Project have produced this insulator jacket in the past and its back again this fall. With an interesting texture in the quilting, it provides the warmth without the bulk, functioning perfectly as a mid-layer.

The Stealth Jacket is arguably the definitive Stone Island Shadow piece. The MKII version is this season's offering, and is perhaps the best to date. As with all Shadow Project pieces, the exterior shows a seemingly minimalist design, while an unfastening of the jacket itself reveals an abundance of well considered details. The Stealth Jacket has a total of 11 different pockets; only two of which are visible from the outside, and, in keeping with Stone Island's philosophies, offers not only technical superiority, but also an exceptional fit. Water resistant and wind proof thanks to the Raso-R Coated outer shell, the splash of green on the interior is the perfect hidden detail to help cement this as a modern classic.
