The re-release of Red Wing's classic Irish Setter leather was all over Japan. The brighter colored boots feel great and the color looks amazing in person. I also like the stamp used on the vintage inspired models. Unfortunately these won't be coming to our part of the market for a couple of seasons at least.

While in Japan I spotted this Rhodia mouse pad and couldn't resist the temptation of a semi-useful, nice looking piece of stationery. Their notepads are great, and easy to find, but I hadn't seen the mouse pad before. They have a sticky back so the traction is good on your desk, and they make for a convenient and functional notepad.

The Porter Classic Gallery is one of their three small spaces within the International Arcade which nestled beneath the train tracks of Tokyo's Ginza neighbourhood. The space is home to monthly installations curated by Leo Yoshida. Coming off of a great Military Pop themed show last month, December features a really nice exhibit called Kage which is a collaboration between illustrator Mimoe and photographer Yanojin. Mimoe's handmade cuttings of her whimsical illustrations have been further brought to life by macro photos by Yanojin. The result is some really nice photographs of small scale life scenes which will be on display until the 29th of December.

Almost impossible to find outside of Japan, Corona have been producing some great pieces for several seasons now. A relative hidden gem, the brand makes hunting and workwear inspired clothing that definitely deserves more attention this side of the North Pacific. Exceptional fits, and great fabric choices certainly make them worthy of consideration, and Extra in New York has recently received very limited sizes and quantities of the the Game Jacket in Harris Tweed. The price on these is unfortunately high, made in Japan and imported to the US with the current Yen Vs. Dollar exchange rate does not bode too well for those looking for a bargain, but for anyone with some money to burn they certainly come highly recommended.

There has been a fair bit of positive hype around the second release of The Travel Almanac. I finally had a chance to thumb through the latest issue and it looked rather nice. I probably should have picked it up on the spot, but I'll have to make my way back to Old Faithful to grab a copy before they're gone this week.
