Designed to represent the purest expression of the essence and values of Comme des Garçons, the New York store in Chelsea was recently renovated and re-opened with a golden touch. Inspired by the fact that babies are often drawn to the colour gold, Rei Kawakubo wanted to express her vision with the bold, luxurious shade – her third colour for the brand after black and red. Besides the new tones and latest collections, the space also features installation sculptures by Kohei Nawa and custom gold light shades by .PSLAB of Beruit.

In the last year or so, New York City has emerged as a hotbed for young producers reinterpreting Chicago and Detroit flavoured dance music into something gritty and fresh. One such producer is Patricia, whose dusty take on the dance floor led to one of the more compelling releases of the year, Body Issues, which is out now on Opal Tapes as both a 12" and a cassette. The most impressive thing about Patricia's work is the sense of environment. The rhythmic and melodic elements seem to be crafted out of the same cloud of smog, creating an atmosphere that feels equally suited for a speakeasy as it does a club.
