A mechanic’s work shirt just this shade of green, often to be found in vintage stores, is something I’ve always kept an eye out for. This one, offered by Wacko Maria, raises the level a little bit with a mix of bold chain stitching and subtle stamped branding. The back is especially good, presenting the Japanese brand’s continual music references in a beautiful bowling-cum-filling station script. It's a great piece, even if you don’t like green as much as I do and want to play it safe with the black or navy version.

One thing I’ve noticed in listening to The Smiths and Morrissey over the years is that they can be pretty polarizing. There are obviously those that are blissfully unaware either way, but few music fans seem to take the work lightly – loving it or hating it, with not much room in-between. While their clothes have never been overly tailored, this collection took things into the realm of certified bagginess, which is an aesthetic that looks great when paired with traditional elements like a kimono collar.

Undercover’s Television pieces for Spring-Summer '15 created quite a stir when the collection was first shown last year, causing plenty of people to raise all kinds of grievances. Most seemed to call-out the large graphic treatments and liberal use of photos from their two album covers. I myself am a huge fan of Tom Verlaine and his fellow band members and feel they are far and away the strongest group associated with the late '70s NYC punk venue CBGB. For me, this T-shirt, while very pricey, uses all the right Marquee Moon references, making it just about the best one you can find for a band with an absolutely sterling output.
