Sometimes you see a film at just the right time and it strikes an emotional chord. I'd been putting off watching Last Days, Gus Van Sant's 2005 semi-biographical account of Kurt Cobain's demise, but I was ready for it last Sunday. Michael Pitt stars as Blake, an often incomprehensible musician disenchanted with life, especially other people. Beautifully shot by longtime Van Sant collaborator, Harris Savides, the film follows Pitt around a sprawling Pacific Northwest estate, escaping conversations with friends and family. Restrained but gripping from start to finish, the most special moments are when he's alone and allows himself to open up through his music: the only way he knows how.

The Serpentine's two locations provide some of the most beautiful art viewing experiences in the world, due in large part to their incredible location within London's Hyde Park. They have now teamed up with fashion house Comme des Garçons to produce a limited edition fragrance devoted to, and inspired by, their breathtaking surroundings. Add in some incredible artwork by legendary YBA Tracey Emin, and you have a package too good to refuse.

It's available in two fabrics and as we head into the heart of summer, it's a great option for the warm days and balmy evenings. Noon is a new UK-based biannual publication from Editor-in-Chief Jasmine Raznaham with creative direction by ARPA. It has "a strong art and fashion bias, with a focus on contemporary critical text." The first issue features a beautifully printed large format with contributions from a variety of well-known figures including Wolfgang Tillmans, Max Farago, Michael Wolf, Tao Lin, Juergen Teller and Marcelo Gomes, to name a few. In an increasingly saturated print market, Noon is one of the nicest publications to come out recently. Its high-quality printing, mix of content and overall design give it a look and feel that most publications can only strive to achieve.

I’ve been on a ceramics search lately, ranging from the simplest and most classic forms to the more artful and abstract – these examples falling squarely in the latter category. Based in Pennsylvania, Jessica Hans' work is expressive and playful, utilizing glazed porcelain as well as found materials in her misshapen designs, and offering a break from the uniform structures that you see in a lot of pottery.
