The 17th edition of Nepenthes' online editorial series, Remix, is an epic affair directed by Fumihiko Okabe. Shot in the Akita prefecture by Arata Suzuki, the story captures well-known fly fisherman, Masuo Honma, in a variety of outfits. Seasonal pieces from South2 West8, Sonic Lab, Needles and Engineered Garments feature alongside collaborations with Rayner & Sturges, Beaver of Bolton, Zapf and New Era, as well as items by Mainland Boot, Whangarei, Lundhags, Stadler, Barena and Skookum.

Issue 06 of the magazine is now at the printers. Another six months of incredibly hard work is behind us, and one of the many things I'm excited about this time around is Fumihiko Okabe's contribution. You'll see what I mean in a couple of weeks. Suffice to say, he was one of the first people I asked to be a part of Issue 07. In the meantime, take a look at Kobayashis, a piece he recently did for Nepenthes.

I discovered Fumihiko Okabe's work at the beginning of last year through an editorial he did for Go Out entitled Anti-Nostalgic. I liked the neatness of his styling, the brand mix he used and the underlying sense of humour with which he approached the story. A year and a lot of emails later, I'm really pleased to say that Issue 06 will feature an incredible editorial that he shot for us with photographer Arata Suzuki. I sincerely hope it's the first of many.
