Sanca Satin Field Jacket

01. Four front pockets with concealed buttons.
02. Two piece sleeves with button cuffs.

Words

Although it's been around since 2007, Sanca is one of those brands that is still disappointingly underrepresented outside of Japan. Thankfully, The Garbstore is buying the line and one of the items they've selected is this mid-weight cotton field jacket, featuring twin needle topstitching and a personal favourite design detail of mine: useful oversized pockets.

Post Overalls Indigo Sheeting Army Shirt-R

01. Boxy fit.

Words

My love of pullover shirting and military wear has elicited numerous recommendations of the classic two-pocket army shirt over the years. I’m sure most were advocating the iconic denim fabric work shirt, but Post Overalls always makes one of the best iterations for summer. I can’t help debating between an original and the Army Shirt-R every season, but this rich, indigo-dyed cotton sheeting version might see me choosing the latter.

Foxford Throw

—01. 75% mohair, 25% wool.

Words

This blanket from the Irish woollen mill, Foxford, established in County Mayo in 1892, is one of several attractive options that the London-based shop Couverture & The Garbstore stocks in their homewares section. The colour combination is pretty unique, offering something a little more interesting than a commonplace tartan pattern. The yarn is also sure to be warm and substantial, comprised of an appealing mohair/wool blend.

Mauna Kea Dual Tone Slub Knit Socks

01. Grey and red.
02. Green and grey.

Words

Melange socks are nothing new, to say the least, but these are a unique take on a much utilized form. The multiple two-tone pairings offer a number of great colour choices, while a loose knit, achieved with machines that produce 60 stitches rather than the standard 170-180, means a thicker yarn can be used, which adds flexibility and makes them much more comfortable.

Marion Fortat Gum Vases

Words

These beautiful, irregular shaped glass vases are a great alternative to the many ceramic options out there. Available in two sizes, they are handmade in Copenhagen by Marion Fortat – a Danish designer "deeply fascinated by the physical transformation of glass, which in its conversion from amorphous to solid reveals the craftsman's work."
