In the last couple seasons, the anorak has become a popular spring piece. Easy to pack, easy to wear and ideal for the warmer weather of the spring and summer. Woolrich Woolen Mills have been consistently making nice versions, both from Daiki and Mark. Batten Sportswear have also put out a good packable version in some nice bright colors this spring.

We previewed Batten Sportswear's first collection a few months back, and now we've received our first shipment. The collection is deeply rooted in American outdoor garments, inspired by surf and mountain. Shinya Hasegawa has created a great looking, functional and very wearable collection, all made in the USA.

—01. Launching next spring.
It's not that often that a new brand comes along that I really like. From the product to the people to the branding, its difficult to get it right. Last week in New York, one of our friends showed us his new brand. Batten Sportswear isn't breaking new ground in terms of the fashion world, but the story and products are well thought through, really nicely made and offer a clean and concise perspective and interpretation of American sportswear.
