Nigel Cabourn for Eddie Bauer Canadian Vest

01

—01. 5.5oz waxed poplin outer.
—02. Made in Canada.

Words

This is perhaps the standout piece from Nigel Cabourn's first season working with Eddie Bauer. The Canadian Vest has a great fit and four well placed pockets. The lightly waxed Moss Green outer offers both versatility and practicality, and the Second World War Talon zipper is a nice additional touch. In a slight tweak from the standard option, we've also removed the hood and the snaps from around the collar to give the exterior an especially clean and classic appearance.

did anyone notice the resemblance between the "eddie bauer down" label and wtaps "red dawn label" a few years ago? It's seriously identical

He's got a point:

I wonder if they're both based else, vintage maybe?

Tim & Headless... Good eyes! It's 'identical' because the Wtaps labels from that collection and many of the outerwear pieces in it are homages to vintage Eddie Bauer garments.

Oh, yeah, right.

*punches self in face for own stupidity*

Simon is correct-
The down/mountain label is one of the earliest and longest running EB labels (1940s-mid 1960s) and we simply added Nigel's name to the original layout.

The 'insane' price -

The jackets are hand quilted in Canada. Each vest takes over three hours just to sew the quilting. The squares are marked with chalk and hand stuffed with the highest premium down, finished with high quality trims and made in authentic performance fabrics. It expensive to make a high quality garments using craftsmen. No budget has gone into marketing the product so the high price you are paying goes directly into the make of the garment.

The vests will be repeated for AW12 available from September.
