Marking his first return to Paris since the final Number (Nine) presentation in 2009, Takahiro Miyashita previewed The Soloist offering for Autumn-Winter '15 over the weekend. In a reference to the colours favoured by John Lennon during the Double Fantasy period, the collection, entitled INTRO., features a strict black and white palette. Seen here as part of select looks, it also includes a series of intricate masks by Shin Murayama, constructed primarily from cowboy boots.

Words

The burgeoning London-based menswear shop, Several, has started to receive their first Spring-Summer deliveries. They’ve added a range of items from the Finnish brand Marimekko to their offering, of which the Jokapoika shirt is a standout, with its simple spread collar and mid-gauge stripe pattern. Another recent highlight easily paired with it is the outstanding monochromatic Spalwart Special Low, based on military athletic shoes from the 1950s.

SoundCloud Spotlight: Pender Street Steppers

Words

Signed to West Coast record label Mood Hut, Pender Street Steppers have been gaining momentum with their mellow, hazy house sound. Liam Butler and Jack J played three dates in Australia earlier this month, followed by a show in San Francisco, and will be performing in the UK and Europe between March and July. The duo's debut, Life in the Zone – issued as a mixed cassette in 2013 – is probably my favourite P.S.S. release, but individual tracks from the album put out on vinyl by Mood Hut and Washington DC’s PPU are a good place to start.

Words

"This book is at once an homage to Ettore Sottsass' artistic experiences, and an interesting reinterpretation of them, through evocative photographs taken by Sottsass himself. The photographs and graphic materials, all from the period between 1968 and 1976 and never previously published, have been assembled by the author and arranged in a dramatic dialogue with his past and his memory."

Sacai just showcased their latest collection in Paris. Continuing on from past seasons, the brand's playful mix of pattern and fabric creates an interesting conversation between texture and silhouette. Falling somewhere between traditional tailoring and luxury sportswear, the Japanese label provides a progressive take on classic men's pieces.

Dean Edmonds Stacking Stool

Words

A new, sleek addition to the Bermuda Trips website, these stacking stools from Dean Edmonds offer a simple, and let's face it, elegant solution to those of us who are short a few chairs, or have more friends coming over than we can comfortably handle. As a quite unlikable person, this isn't something I have a problem with myself, but I'm sure plenty of others out there actually socialize now and again. With an abundance of naturally coloured, teak-centric pieces seemingly in every house, flat or apartment you visit, these all black stools certainly appeal.
