Summer at Rochelle 2

Info

Rochelle School
Arnold Circus
London E2 7ES
Saturday, August 1, 12-7pm

Words

Rochelle School in East London will open its gates again this Saturday for the second edition of Several's summer shopping events. Returning guests Palm London and Louise Madzia are joined by the likes of Bermuda Trips and Abel Sloane for what looks to be another great line-up. Music comes courtesy of John Stammers and Noncollective, while Rochelle Canteen is taking lunch and dinner reservations, as well as serving a selection of food and drink from a separate stall on the lawn. The first one turned out to be the perfect start to the weekend, and with the weather looking good this promises to be an equally enjoyable day.

Quaker Marine Supply Co. Summer Whites

01. Tennis Hat

Words

It shouldn't be, but a good white hat is hard to find. Thanks to an excellent tip from a good friend, I've sorted the baseball cap side of the equation for the summer months, but the elusive well-fitting bucket is still proving tricky to track down. Or it was, until I discoverd the Quaker Marine Supply Co. Tennis Hat, over at Bermuda Trips. Available alongside the Swordfish Cap, both options are not only pretty much perfect for the warm weather and sun stroke avoidance, they're also increasingly harder to find, due to the company going out of business a few years ago. A sad thing when you consider they could once count both Hunter S. Thompson and Earnest Hemingway as customers and fans.

Dean Edmonds Stacking Stool

Words

A new, sleek addition to the Bermuda Trips website, these stacking stools from Dean Edmonds offer a simple, and let's face it, elegant solution to those of us who are short a few chairs, or have more friends coming over than we can comfortably handle. As a quite unlikable person, this isn't something I have a problem with myself, but I'm sure plenty of others out there actually socialize now and again. With an abundance of naturally coloured, teak-centric pieces seemingly in every house, flat or apartment you visit, these all black stools certainly appeal.

Bermuda Trips Mashiko Pottery

Words

Dean and Natsumi recently returned from a trip to Japan, filling their bags with new products for their Bermuda Trips website. There are some great Alumite bento and pocket snack boxes, some indigo bandanas and deadstock bottle openers, but my personal favorites are the handmade Mashiko pottery pieces. With several unique cups to chose from, this small sake cup is my pick of the bunch.

Words

Bermuda Trips is the name of a new webstore launched by Dean Edmonds and Natsumi Sashida. The intention here is simple: to offer a range of affordable and interesting small products and travel finds, both new and old, that have each spoken to Dean and Natsumi in some way. At Bermuda Trips one-of-a kind Crazy Rugby Shirts find a home alongside vintage bumper stickers, various homewares, military miscellany and prototypes of Dean's own furniture, design and sculptural works. With no set schedule, keep an eye on the site for regular additions and updates in the weeks and months ahead.
