Since arriving in Florence, the team has stayed in Italy for the last week, moving through Milan and onto Bologna to work on an upcoming project for WP Lavori. The trip already feels much longer than its been, but as usual, its been exciting to spend more time with wonderful people. We still a few more days to go in Italy before the flight home this weekend.

I discovered Fumihiko Okabe's work at the beginning of last year through an editorial he did for Go Out entitled Anti-Nostalgic. I liked the neatness of his styling, the brand mix he used and the underlying sense of humour with which he approached the story. A year and a lot of emails later, I'm really pleased to say that Issue 06 will feature an incredible editorial that he shot for us with photographer Arata Suzuki. I sincerely hope it's the first of many.

"In popular myth, Margaret Thatcher reportedly said that any man still travelling by bus after the age of 30 could consider himself a failure. The quote is almost certainly apocryphal, but it stuck in the public consciousness because it sounded like the kind of thing that an arch-conservative would say; cars were the preserve of the rich and successful, whereas buses were how the poor, the failed and the antisocial travelled around the city.

If there’s any truth in that distinction, then it damns an awful lot of people in London. Every week day, over 6800 buses carry around 6 million people across 700 different routes. And while buses have their problems, they offer a unique view of the city." This except from Justin Quirk's foreward sums up the inspiration behind a new publication by James Pearson-Howes and Will Robson-Scott. Photographed over a 2 year period from the top deck of various East London buses, and currently on show at renowned advertising agency Mother, the project offers a fresh perspective on the monotony of the daily commute.

Human Made Campus Sweat

Plain is best, but every once in a while a sweatshirt like this catches my eye. It will usually feature a collegiate print and a small C above the cuff, but this is something a bit more special. The large applique letters - front and back - won't be to everyone's liking, nor is the price particularly realistic for the vast majority of us. That doesn't stop it from being a great sweatshirt though, and one I'd happily add to the stack of more subdued options in my wardrobe.

Torbjørn Rødland: Eighteen Analogue Double Exposures

The Norwegian born, LA based photographer Torbjørn Rødland's 'Eighteen Analogue Double Exposures' is currently on display at the Standard gallery in Oslo. The exhibition offers a unique and minimally hung view of Torbjørn's black and white photography, which has previously been seen in books by Steidl, Hassla, and Libraryman. If you don't happen to live anywhere close to Oslo, his work is also well worth checking out online, or in print, if that's the closest you can get.

The Real McCoy's Deer Skin Vest

When the temperature drops there's nothing like a French duck down vest to keep that core warm. Exotic insulation just feels better. McCoys are capable of sourcing some incredible material and I can only imagine how nice that deer skin leather breaks in. I can't justify buying this piece, but I can appreciate how incredible it is.
