Lukas Peet Spotlight Volumes

Having studied abroad at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, Lukas moved back to Vancouver and began his career producing his own designs. Having recently won the first Emerging Designer Competition award in Canada, it would be hard to argue that he isn't on the right track. His work has a sophisticated, refined look with a strong minimalist aesthetic. Lighting has been Lukas' strongest suit, and his Spotlight Volumes series are among my favourites.

I've been on a bit of a Woody Allen binge lately – enjoying his self-deprecating, New York-centric sense of humour – and I usually prefer it when he features in his films, essentially playing a version of himself. Interiors, however, offers an almost entirely female perspective on Allen's recurrent themes, providing a more serious examination of the balance between a career, family and love. Aesthetically, the film is also one of Allen's most elegant, especially in terms of the wardrobe and production design. While it was released in 1978 it feels incredibly undated, and just as inspiring today as it would have been 36 years ago.

A nice light-weight selection of Stone Island spring items have recently appeared at Tres Bien. While New York isn't the ideal place to live if you're after an expensive lightweight jacket to wear for more than two weeks of the year, for those in more reasonable climates there are definitely some nice options available this season from the Italian sportswear brand.

Birkenstock Hunter Black London

While Birkenstocks are good all year round, this version of their London model looks like an especially good summer option. Easy to wear with trousers or shorts, socks or sockless, the black leather is versatile and ages well, and the shoe features the brand's usual wide shape which is something I'm always drawn to.

The Judd Foundation recently produced a special online feature on the artist's woodcut and print making process. It has been released as a companion piece, to offer extra insight into a new exhibition at David Zwirner New York. Prints features work by Donald Judd, Dan Flavin and Fred Sandback, who are all more widely known for their three-dimensional sculptural work. The show runs until March 1st, while the online feature is certainly worth a few moments of your time.

Aspesi Spring Marvin Nylon Outershirt

A nylon overshirt is a good choice for throwing on over a light wool layer or heavier cotton shirt during the months that are on the cusp of fair weather. It would function well in light rain, and the slim polyester insulation takes the bite out of the air, that I'm sure will hang around for a while longer.
