I've really started to appreciate the usability of technically inclined outdoor gear for those instances when you are caught in the elements and need to rely on the details inherent in forward-thinking design to keep your haul dry. Weekend Listening: Yoshi Wada – Earth Horns with Electronic Drone

Earth Horns with Electronic Drone is a mesmerizing release from the succinct catalog of veteran musician and sound installation artist, Yoshi Wada. Released in 2009 on the Japanese labels EM Records and Omega Point, the recording of a near three hour performance from 1974 at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York predates his previous three releases. Wada and three co-conspirators hold hypnotizing sustained tones on their 'earth horns,' anchored by an ever-present synthesizer drone played by a fifth member, Liz Phillips. This is early ritualistic drone music that serves as a time capsule of the 1970s experimental scene and foreshadows the sound of many contemporary bands. The three LP version contains the full 162 minutes of music and is lavishly packaged in four-colour printed 12 inch inner sleeves. This is a really heady listen that should appeal to any fans of early Terry Riley, Tony Conrad or the Taj Mahal Travellers.

They have a little more going on design-wise than the Stan Smith, Gazelle and Campus but still retain a simple, clean look that is the hallmark of the Adidas Originals footwear line.

We heard him talk about the concept when we interviewed him for our eighth issue, but now his vision has come to fruition. Featuring a variety of vintage items, homewares and a large selection of Naissance, the store is an interesting addition to the ever-evolving retail landscape of Tokyo.

UK-based brand Neuba have been producing some incredible shirts utilizing a conglomeration of weaving techniques to create a very unique garment. They are handwoven in India, making use of both ancient and modern methods, and also source out the best in rural and urban craftsmen employing traditional hand looms, amounting to a very expressive, tactile texture.

The latest edition of Apartamento magazine has officially launched today and is now available in-store and online. It's the 13th issue in an impressive catalog and the publication seems to get better with each release. There are features on Wes Anderson, Anissa Helou, Joel Chen and Faye Toogood, among others, but the highlight is probably the special supplement on The Girards and the work of Alexander specifically.
