For my money, over the past few years, Unused has consistently offered some of the most interesting lookbooks in the industry. Each one of their slightly off-kilter pieces is shown as a part of a larger, wonderfully obscure tapestry of modern Japanese fashion. This jacket, when combined with the matching shorts, creates probably my favorite look from the most recent season. It would, however, look good with just about anything else you might want to try it with. Beetlejuice vibes or otherwise.

Levi's Vintage Clothing 1970s Orange Tab 615

Levi's Orange Tab products from the late '60s and early '70s, long thought by collectors to be inferior to vintage Red Tab items, have received many desirable reproductions from LVC this season, surely regaining some of the respect they deserve in the process. Produced in a medium washed original Cone Mills denim, the 1970s 615 model is an understated style with a straight leg, bar tack construction, zip fly and a leather-like patch.

The word 'timeless' gets tossed around far too easily, especially when it comes to menswear. Just because someone wears a bunch of clothing based on turn of the century silhouettes does not mean their particular look is guaranteed to stand the test of time. I can think of one style cue that will though, and you need look no further than the films 'Wild at Heart' or 'Stranger Than Paradise' for inspiration and reference. This shirt by OTHER/man, the in-house brand from the London-based retailer OTHER/shop, is a perfectly executed puzzle piece for the look in question, and it's one you won't want to sleep on, having been produced in very limited numbers.

Doek Court Shoe

Doek, launched this spring with two enduring footwear styles, is a welcome addition to the Japanese classic sneaker market already inhabited by Sols and Shoes Like Pottery. Manufactured at the first-rate Moonstar factory using the Kurume region's famous Kasuri weaving technique, the Court model utilizes a similar shape to the Converse Jack Purcell. The undyed ecru-coloured canvas combined with a cork insole might look as basic as it gets, but it couldn't be more appealing.

Stan Bitters: Modern Primitive at Heath Ceramics' Boiler Room

This Saturday marks the opening of Stan Bitters' first exhibition in over 35 years, and the inspirational Californian ceramicist and sculptor's first ever in the Bay Area. Hosted by Heath Ceramics in their Boiler Room event space, it features a career-spanning selection of work alongside new items created especially for the show. Large scale installations will be on display as well as iconic smaller pieces such as birdhouses, thumb pots and lanterns. Everything is for sale and the exhibition runs until the end of June.

Tender Sunglasses

One defining quality of the British brand Tender is their insistence on utilizing materials found in the natural world. Whether it's their woad or chlorophyll dyed garments, or these sunglasses which are fashioned out of cellulose acetate from cotton pulp, the connection to nature is attractive and proves an interesting detail amongst a sea of similarity. Moreover they are simple and understated, and a pair of sunglasses I'd want to wear.

These 'triple black' 990s might not win everyone over, but I'm on board with their monochromatic colour scheme. While light grey is certainly the obvious choice for this desirable US-made style, this version would make for a great alternative.
