This border tee from Comme des Garçons SHIRT is a simple, easy to wear piece that would look great with some shorts on the yacht or layered under some navy and black wool in the winter.

01. Vol. 1, No. 3 – Autumn 1973.
02. Vol. 1, No. 4 – Winter 1973.

Words

On numerous occasions Google Books has been an indispensable resource for hard to find materials that I was dying to see. One such treasure was searching for and happening upon issues of Backpacker magazine from the 1970s. The first few years of this publication are worth a scroll through to see advertisements from now iconic companies like The North Face, Patagonia and Eddie Bauer in a fledgling hiking magazine. The vintage gear from these brands and many smaller mail-order companies is certainly the highlight and this collection of copies online is incredibly generous.

Words

The price tag is sure to frighten those with better sense than I, but I haven't been able to stop thinking about this lamp since I first saw it. Designed by Ilse Crawford’s Studioilse and produced by Swedish lighting company Wästberg, it takes just enough reference from early 20th century task lights so as not to render it unrecognizable, but also features a certain amount of playfulness, offering a choice of brown or red braided cables and mixing materials such as cast iron, beech and aluminium.

Star of Hollywood "Invisible Piano Hands" Shirt

Words

The graphics on Star of Hollywood shirts have long been renowned for their oddness. This one is no different, and it’s great to see that the modern incarnation of the company has kept up this tradition. The repeated hands create an interesting pattern and the red nails add just enough colour without things becoming too loud. Definitely a fine choice for a totally unique summer shirt.

Words

My obsession with Ken Price's work has hit feverish levels. Between the quality of his recent publications, and seeing his most recent show at Matthew Marks, I can safely say that aesthetically he is in a league of his own. The way he translates his strange, erotically charged alien world so effortlessly between mediums is truly something to admire. I suggest picking up See if Turtle Cups will Float? Shots in Pool to fully understand the breadth of his work.
