There are several excellent small home radios available for the design conscious, that are appointed with essential modern features such as Bluetooth and Spotify enablements. The best looking options have customarily come from renowned companies such as Tivoli or Bose, but Mr Porter is offering a great alternative in the form of this simple, well-designed walnut, aluminum and steel unit from the brand Revo, dubbed the SuperConnect.

These days there seems to be more classic Adidas sneakers being released than ever before, offering the opportunity to pick up your favourite styles from the past, while also discovering some unfamiliar ones. The Topanga debuted in the Spezial collection in 2014, based on a model produced by the German sportswear brand in the '70s called the California. This season it's available in a two colours, my favourite being the decidedly more subdued blue-on-blue option.

The Japanese shop Loftman seems to receive an almost constant stream of new arrivals, including a wide range of American-made products that Westerners would never be able to find at home. I’ve been looking at and coveting the breadth of Crescent Down Works' designs for a few years now, always impressed by their functionality and simplicity. I have never seen this amazing Coach Jacket though, and the obsessive side of my personality is probably going to wish I hadn’t.

Neighbour recently produced this editorial combining items from their men's and women's stores. Shot by Ian Lanterman in a large warehouse, the industrial backdrop is a nice counterpoint to the clean, contemporary lines of the clothing. Those with particular tastes could easily drop a lot of money at the Japanese furniture shop Building, with all the incredible pieces they regularly receive. I often visit the store's website as part of my online browsing circuit, but I don’t think I've ever seen this Jean Prouvé design before. Represented in the MoMA permanent collection and sometimes referred to as the Light chair, it was reproduced by Vitra for a decade from 2002 to 2012. These days it's much more difficult to find, but now that it’s in my mind, I'll have a hard time considering any other wood and steel chairs. Well outside my budget, it won’t be mine anytime soon, but that's how she goes, I guess.

Rebuild by Needles Brown Duck Arrow Jacket

This variegated amalgam of brown duck canvas fabrics adds a lot of visual interest to the fairly basic Arrow Jacket by Needles. Having poked around in a number of shops before finding this hunting piece, it's apparent that patchwork is a prevalent trend this season. Many brands seem to be doing it for the novelty of pairing disparate fabric panels, but the Rebuild line uses this approach as its signature season after season, crafting entirely new one-off creations from a wide range of vintage items.

The Trilogy Tapes is releasing a pair of very good records this week, one by the mysterious duo that make up Rezzett, and the other from French producer Coni. There's been no shortage of new releases from the UK-based label lately, but these two – EP 2 and Imaginarium Essai EP – are especially strong.

Takazawa Candle at Neighbour

Neighbour has recently received what might amount to one of the more interesting stocking stuffers for someone that has everything. The Japanese company, Takazawa, produces plant wax candles which utilize a wick made by wrapping a dried reed around a rice paper cylinder. This is said to create a large and luminous flame, with minimal smoke, due to its ability to draw air up the hollow shaft, which sounds like a great alternative to having to light more candles. What sold me though, and what the recipient will surely see when tearing off the wrapping paper, is the wacky and beautiful packaging.
