Featuring a selection of archive imagery and text from Simons' previous collections, the garments come in a handful of colours and, with only 20 of each available, they are sure to sell out quickly.

Engineered Garments Plaid Wool B2B Jacket

Words

The current Engineered Garments collection is one of my favourites from the brand. The variety of styles and fabrics make for a great mix, and the overall offering has just about everything you could want for the season – from classic staples to more playful pieces. The B2B Jacket is a newer style with a slightly more tailored fit; it comes in a handful of great wools, including this plaid option, and represents one of the standout items in Daiki Suzuki's Fall-Winter '14 collection.

(can we hold hands out here) by d.a. levy

Words

d.a. levy was an underground poet, publisher and printer, and one of the instigators of the 1960s ‘mimeograph revolution’ whose life ended too early at the age of 26 in 1968. Jon Beacham, of The Brother in Elysium imprint, seems to have taken over the mantle of champion for the generally overlooked late poet’s work. This volume, which is hand set and letterpress printed by Beacham in a limited run of 250 copies, collects a number of levy's poems and a selection of his concrete works from the rare publication, Scarab, issued by the poet’s own 7 Flowers Press in 1966. It also includes an accompanying essay evaluating his role in the 1960s small press poetry scene.

A Vontade No Collar Coach Jacket

Words

Coach jackets have been really making the rounds over the last few seasons with some outstanding examples of the casual sportswear style from a wide range of brands. This version by the impressive Japanese label, A Vontade, has removed the collar for a unique reduction in design. The taupe colour, which would be great paired with the usual earth tones of fall, is particularly attractive too.

Jason Nocito – Pud

Words

Even though Pud is published by Dashwood, I came across this unexpectedly engrossing book at Printed Matter. Although I am a bit tired of 'street photography', photography of actual streets seems remarkably fresh. Similar to the old adage about us all living in a giant's fingernail, Nocito's close-up photos of puddles and concrete truly feel like they're little universes in and of themselves.

Undercover N6B02 Tote Bag

Words

Jun Takahashi’s Undercover label steadily produces some highly technical but still incredibly straightforward and usable designs for daily life. This collaboration with Porter Yoshida & Co. is one of the most attractive and functional tote bags I have come across. The military inspiration looks particularly nice, while the three exterior cargo pockets make frequently used items that much easier to get to.

ts(s) Quilted Liners

Words

Recently received at Nepenthes, these Quilted Liners by ts(s) offer an element of refinement not always associated with insulated pieces. Likely to be a great layering option when the cold weather sets in, the rich colours and nicely cut necklines add an extra level of appeal to an otherwise practical purchase.
