Unionmade, LA

Words

Unionmade Goods have quickly made a nice name for themselves in the menswear retail market. Carrying a nice variety of goods from Alden, Orslow, Woolrich Woolen Mills, Mark McNairy and Saint James to name a few, the shop offers a good selection of new collections along with classic staples. The San Francisco shop must be doing alright, as Unionmade have recently opened their second store in Santa Monica, Los Angeles. The store is located in the Brentwood Country Mart which has a nice little feel, and is also where the Monocle LA store is located.

I am so happy for Todd and Carl.

They are wonderful amazing people. Can't wait to see what their 3rd location looks like.

what I really like about this place, from looking at the photos that is, is how they present healthy stock levels on the shopfloor. It's a refreshing change to the tired one-of-each-item-artfully-hung-in-space strategy employed by a lot of fashion retailers (though I realise that some shops just don't keep enough stock to do it).

Great looking store - cannot wait to visit.
The store in SF is one of my favorites.

As a member of an actual union, I'm not going to patronize a store called Unionmade when most/all of the items in the store are not Unionmade. It's not only a stupid name, it's an insulting one.

I'm a member of a union too, but strangely enough I was able to overcome the name of this store without feeling insulted. I hadn't realized that the Literalists had unionized. Please continue to make thoughtful posts Allen so that I can know when I should feel insulted.
