Yet another gem unearthed from The Moment blog of the New York Times; The Navajo Blanket by Mary Hunt Kahlenberg and Anthony Berlant looks like an amazing find, should you manage to track a copy down of the 1979 book from Praeger Publishing. Unsurprisingly my knowledge on blankets is not particularly up to scratch, but I was lucky enough to recently spend some time in the company of someone who's appreciation, understanding, and craft certainly is, for the latest issue of the magazine. Since then my fledgling interest has grown little by little, and this publication looks like something I'd happily add to the piles around the house, given half the chance.

Snyper: If you pick up a copy of the new issue there's a Focus on Hiromi Kiyama, that contains a couple of great recommendations for books on traditional american blankets. While not Navajo specifically, they're definitely still really interesting and worth tracking down. Hope that helps.

this book is everywhere-very easy to find-at least in california-and always for a reasonable price.
