Japanese brand Soe have made a name for themselves with the adventurous use of fabrics in their shirting, but it's actually a collection of T-shirts which have really caught my attention recently. This is my personal favourite from a series of options, all of which feature photos of seemingly happy young women, tinged with what feels to me like a certain loss of innocence. Intended or otherwise, each one is simply designed and quietly effective.

Let's be honest, the prices and fabric content of certain brands of socks have gotten a bit ridiculous. They are meant to be worn on your feet after all, not rubbed on your face. That said, we're talking about mohair here, the yarn which I consider to have the best hand in the business. I don't own a pair of these, but I would imagine slipping them on would be a pretty remarkable start to the day.

Champion's Japanese line teamed up with Freak's Store to make this beautifully classic-looking coaches jacket. Available in two colours, the tonal patch and snaps, along with the shine of the polyester itself, make this jacket look like something all the extras would have worn while filming The French Connection. Which is a good thing in my opinion.

I'm a big fan of T-shirts that utilize untraditional or more substantial fabrics. When it starts heating up, and you can't imagine wearing anything but a short sleeve top, it's the perfect way to do so without feeling like you're back in middle school.

A good winter vest is essential for those frequent subzero days on the East Coast, and indeed elsewhere. This piece looks a bit like Victim's head designer sliced the vest out of the middle of a past season's varsity jacket, but I don't mind that one bit.
