Words

This spring Stones Throw Records released a feature-length film documenting the birth and evolution of the label, and the people that made it possible. Peanut Butter Wolf can be credited with Stone Throw's direction and success – financially and artistically – so it's no surprise to find him narrating. The film provides intimate insight into an otherwise quiet group of musicians, from the early days and the death of Charizma to a peek at the prolific work of Madlib and the latest wave of artists to be signed. It's an inspiring and emotional look inside one of the most impressive independent record labels of our time.

—01. Four LP Box Set.

Words

Charizma and Peanut Butter Wolf joined forces as teenagers and began making music together in the early '90s before Charizma was sadly killed in 1993. The two developed a unique sound, and one that stands the test of time. This spring Peanut Butter Wolf produced an extensive box set including 40 tracks that the pair worked on together – in part to commemorate the late rapper, but also to share a variety of rare and unreleased music. The collection was only released on vinyl, but if you're not able to track down the four LP box set then you can have a listen on the Stones Throw Soundcloud page and purchase an MP3 version through the label's online store.
