To celebrate this year's US Open, Canal Street Tennis Club is born, a collaboration between American director Jake Davis and Canadian sportswear brand Reigning Champ. A native New Yorker and an avid tennis fan, it's the '80s tennis club of Davis' dreams where you can have a drink with John McEnroe and Tatum O'Neal. The sweatshirts have been produced in limited numbers and are only available for the two week duration of New York's famed hard court tournament.

This fall Gastown F.C. have worked with Reigning Champ again to launch a concise selection of quality pieces. The collection is more interesting and diverse than last fall, offering a water resistent jacket, sweatshirt, sweat shorts and a cotton hat. Everything is made in Vancouver by CYC and you can get a glimpse into the process through the feature on Post-New. The collection is now available in-store and online from Inventory and other select retailers.

Many of our local customers and friends are well aware of our locality, being apart of the Gastown community. Just over two years ago we started our own football club, rightly dubbed Gastown F.C. While our team has enjoyed some success so far in it's early career, one of our proud accomplishments has been working with Reigning Champ to make a small range of products. The first capsule includes simple items, that are all made in Vancouver with the expertise of the CYC factory and their great fabrics. Along with the collaboration pieces, we also gathered a handful of nice publications and accessories for the online team shop.

Heavy weight terry cloth, made in Canada, affordable and comfortable as can be. This spring Reigning Champ slimmed down their collection, but produced these great cut of sweat shorts. There have been a few versions this spring, but these more athletic inspired shorts are probably my favorites. I've been wearing them around for the last couple months and can't complain at all. The classic heather grey terry is the perfect color for these as well.

I'm going to have try one of these shirts on before I can say its too good, but the idea is interesting, the fabric choices are nice and we already known CYC make a very good product. Haven teamed up with Vancouver's Reigning Champ to make these raglan sleeve BD shirts in a handful of fabrics. The design looks clean enough, the selvedge lines look great, triple track stitching looks tough, but again, needs to be tried on I think.

Sunday feels like the right day to be posting something like this. When it gets cool, it's just nice to have a couple of layers around to throw on whether you're at home, at the office or just running around town. Reigning Champ provides quality garments that are as comfortable as they come and with tones like this oatmeal, its tough to lose. There's a good chance I'll pick up one of these in the near future.
