I have a bag problem, and I have addmitted it before. I just love the use of different fabrics, and the simplicity and functionality of tote bags especially. Recently I snagged one of these small Post Overalls tote bags in New York when we met with Takeshi and Katsu. The fabrics are tough but have a light, all season feeling to them. The olive webbing is a nice touch. The size isn't my favorite, but I really like the styling and finishing.

Inspiration: Super Pay Day Jacket

It's always interesting to see what garments spark a certain inspiration for designers. This mid-30s Pay Day jacket was one of those items for Takeshi Ohfuchi of Post Overalls. The details in the garment from the different types of stitching to the first use of Sanforized denim cotton to the natural wear and pocket details all contributed to the way he sees clothing today. If it now looks familiar, it's because its a strong reference point for Takeshi's current Engineer's jacket in the Post Overalls collection.

Post Overalls Shorts

We did include rascal pants in our Illustrated Examples this spring, but shorts of the same sort can also be a nice touch. The pattern and colors of these Post Overalls Menpolini shorts are definitely a little flamboyant, but offer a nice injection of tone into a summer outfit. I’d definitely pair them up with something mellow however.

Post Overalls Calico x Blue Royal Traveler Vest

Post Overalls aren’t always a brand to explore with a lot of different patterns, but this spring they’ve done a very nice looking version of their classic waist coat in a calico royal blue. The pattern is interesting, but subtle enough to look great with chambray or a blue oxford cloth. It’s definitely one of my favorite items in the spring collection.
