Words

Peter Sutherland, everyone's favourite contemporary New York historian, has once again teamed up with everyone's favourite group of art alchemists to bring you 70s 80s 90s 00s, an exhibition at Still House's Red Hook residency gallery. It's been a few years since I've seen his work in person but it appears to be Sutherland's largest show to date. He seems to have put the space to work beautifully, as he continues his recent run of documenting the strange contrasts that exist within and between extreme sports cultures, urban living and the great outdoors; most likely from a viewpoint you've not before experienced.

01. 18 x 24 inches.
02. Hand numbered and signed.

Words

New York-based artist, Peter Sutherland, has produced a limited print for the Ace Hotel shop in an edition of 100. I'm sure there are lots of us who can’t get our hands on one his inkjet originals, but for fans of his work on a budget, this print, entitled ‘Hittin’ the Dusty Trail,’ should make things a little easier – for the time being at least.

Words

Before The Wilds is a group show collaboration between S.C.P., Ed. Varie and Tinker Street* featuring the work of Ye Rin Mok, Nicholas Haggard, Peter Sutherland, Ben Pier, Matty Sidle, Estelle Hanania and Thobias Fäldt. This is one of those things that makes you wish you were in a particular city at a particular time. I first heard about it during the early planning stages and was in New York over the summer as it began to take shape. Sadly though, on the day of the opening, I couldn't be further away. The show runs until September 30th, but if you're in New York I definitely recommend going along this evening. An unbound catalogue with letterpress cover and insert print will be on sale, alongside a complete set of 7 letterpress prints, and a box set of t-shirts featuring the work of each artist and 7 hand numbered, signed prints. These items have been produced in very small quantities and are unlikely to be around for long.

Opening tonight: Ed. Varie, 208 E. 7th St., NY. 6-9pm.
