This season Peggs & Son have collaborated with Tricker’s to produce what seems to be the perfect winter shoe. While commando soles are commonly used by the Northampton-based shoemaker and do suit wet climes, the Dainite option employed here offers equally good traction with a lower profile. This gives the shoe a clean and simple look, while the Y-tip construction and contrast white stitching add some embellishment to a very functional piece of footwear.

Buzz Rickson’s William Gibson MA-1

For me the best MA-1 available, from the abundance offered these days, would have to be this Buzz Rickson’s version from their William Gibson collection. This isn’t a new variant by any means, constituting the first piece created for the writer's capsule in 2004. I’m generally too tall for most flight jacket options and I know Gibson found himself in a similar predicament, before suggesting that the Japanese brand alter the proportions to accommodate him. The longer body and slimmer cut are a couple of the hallmarks of this style, and a welcome change for all the ectomorphs trying to find an MA-1 that fits.

Super Giaguaro Sunglasses

Sunglasses are one of those items that can get really outrageous when the design becomes too conspicuous and individualistic. This pair from Super retains a healthy balance of uniqueness and classic sensibility, with a matte black plastic frame and wire details it would be a great selection for a pair that's a little different than your average.
