Directed by Grant Curatola and Louis Levy, written by the latter, and styled by Anthony Unwin, the latest short film to accompany the Louis W. for A.P.C. collection takes inspiration from Jean-Pierre Léaud's audition for Truffaut’s The 400 Blows. Succinct yet highly impactful, the film introduces Bruno Di Corcia, while showcasing the Fall-Winter '14 offering.

I'll be honest, when the Louis W. line from A.P.C. started showing up, I wasn't exactly sure what the deal was. Who was Louis W.? Why were the jackets so expensive? Well, it turned out the former was an eight-year employee of the A.P.C. design team, and the latter was because they're leather jackets, and leather jackets – good ones – are almost always expensive. While I can't ever really imagine myself in a traditional leather piece, I am a fan of the classic suede bomber style, and appreciate concise, well executed collections. I also like the family feel Jean has created in letting this collaboration come to light, and allowing a new voice to shine from within his company. Made from 100% camel hair, these ribbed wool hats are a winter essential. There are plenty of options out there, but the size and fit of these appear to be just right. The hat was made in a handful of colours this season, but black and camel are the best of the options.

With fall stock arriving at shops around the world, there are a lot of options out there for the season's first purchases. Mr. Porter have been doing a great job since opening only a few seasons ago, and they have plenty on offer already. While the season's buys can be interpreted in a number of ways, these pieces worked well together, featuring a variety of greys, a little of wool and a casual look overall.
