Here’s a screening to mark on your calendar if you're in New York over the coming weeks – referred to by The Hollywood Reporter as "catnip for film buffs." Hitchcock/Truffaut is an influential publication from 1967, masterminded by the acclaimed director and critic François Truffaut, that almost singlehandedly changed the perception of Alfred Hitchcock. At the time his work was regarded as somewhat lightweight, but over the course of a weeklong conversation between the pair, a film by film analysis was undertaken that uncovered his true mastery. This was the source material for the book and it has now been given the documentary treatment by Kent Jones and Serge Toubiana, with additional insight provided by the likes of Wes Anderson, David Fincher, Paul Schrader, Martin Scorsese and many more.
