Words

Over the weekend Mark McNairy and WP Lavori took the Woolrich Woolen Mills collection to Milan for the brands official presentation. It was one of my favorite collections in Florence, so its nice to see a preview of the pieces in a slightly different light here. With the use of some cotton twills, chambray, mesh and some great prints, the collection is well rounded, offering a unique twist on the Americana classics, while injecting a fresh feel and an opportunity to buy the collection in a few different ways - sadly, not in Canada though.

I like the wax print shirt and scarves. I wore one in Nigeria and younger relatives told me 'like your Trad shirt'. Elements of African 'Trad' meet US 'Trad' here then.

The shorts look like something a nervous tourist would wear in Marrakesh.

I really like this, I was a bit sceptical about McNairy taking over as I never got much out of New Amsterdam but I think the S/S looks great, modern clean lines mixed with poppy textures and it all looks wearable and classic.

This is so boring. Woolrich won't have any more high lines after this judging by the lack of effort from Mcnairy.

The f-word on the bottom of your oxfords, so subversive! It wasn't cool, in retrospect, on sneakers and it isn't cool right now in the present. The clothes aren't much better.

Oh sorry I didn't read the previous McNairy tantrum before I posted my comment. Apparently I don't understand the big mystery about what makes Mark McNairy not come off as a boring try-hard streetwear rehash.

The Denim anorak pullover parka looks nice. I think a lot of people thought that McNairy was going to come in and make a huge change to the label but don't forget that the brand is still Woolrich Woolen Mills..... and you can only do soooo much.

Looks like McNairy is keeping the brand on point and adding a bit of nice new texture. Like what I see and I look forward to getting a closer look.

hmmm...I've been to too many line showings to know that the look on mister's face in pic 01 is saying "...I wouldn't buy these but I hope that you will."

Wow, he's either really small, Jockey like, or those shorts are being left for Luciano Pavorotti to try on when they ship out of Italia.

Smock & Red Boone? Parka (summer version with pointed pockets) are interesting.
