Words

It feels like it's been a long time coming, or maybe it's just been a long month. Either way, Issue 04 is finally just around the corner. It will finish printing early this week and will be on the shelves only a week later. I'm extremely excited about our 4th installment, both for the beautiful photography and the great stories, but also because the stress levels can go back down a notch from being dangerously high, to moderately high – which is normal at least. If you haven't already seen the covers, they were previewed on Julien Strangler last week, have a look here.

Coming soon...

keep up the real good work.
Can we expect an article about Sett/General Research anytime soon ? Not a lot of info about the brand can be found and I'm sure there are good stories to be told.

Very excite. Will Jcrew mens shop in Boston be getting both covers?

Looks good. Will be interested to read the piece on Smedley - a longstanding UK favourite - and of course, Daiki.

Is that Nigel Slater blinged up on the cover?!

Good stuff. But as much as I'm excited about the issue I'm more concerned with what happened to that Careful Short Haircut of yours...?

Inventory magazine: run by hoods and hoodlums.

Sorrybut - maybe, its on our list.
Tim - not sure, J.Crew are buying a bunch of copies, but we don't really know how/where they get delegated.

JS - Breaking trends. '11 is about having longer hair on your face than on your head. Then you comb your beard like a neat haircut.

what jacket are you wearing?
April 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterLL
Maybe this comes from the heightened sensitivities of my current studies, but the layout of the tent, pack and bag piece feels imbued by the Whole Earth Catalog (in a good way), which was, of course, informed by early L.L. Bean catalogues. Looks great.

Do you think the "what jacket is that?" questions relating to the Olive Green EG Bird Shooter have reached the hundreds yet?

Admittedly this is a rarity: It's not a photo of Simon in it.

^ What I think is even funnier is the possibility that the ripple effect caused by the demand for the Bird Shooter after 2009 is the reason jackets like the Cruiser sell out in green just months after being released.

I think that's totally the reason. And as a man who owns said green cruiser: it doesn't come close to the OG BS. Having seen that thing in person so many times now, it really is the definitive olive green hunting-esque jacket. I hate to give Mr Roe (and by extension Mr Willms) even more reason to gloat but the Bird Shooter from 09 is pretty much perfect.

Even the Woolrich Woolen Mills BS Lite falls way short in comparison. Sadly: I own one of those too!

ahhh, the illusive birdshooter makes another appearance... only worn by the most rare gentlemen.

I have to say I prefer the Cruiser. Somehow cleaner looking than the birdshooter. Daiki can overdo it with the pockets at little, at times, I think.

I like the cruiser , I own one. It doesn't announce its newness or its distinctiveness, which is why I like it so much. Plus it has a huge inside pocket that will fit books, folded newspapers, etc.. My complaint is the fabric, should've been OD sateen instead of ripstop which fades faster and feels cheaper.
