Fair Isle socks are always great come fall. While Ralph Lauren seems to have the rights to best version available, Margaret Howell has also made a couple of nice looking pairs this season. They come in three colours and use a nice wool blend, which keeps you warm and looks good - the ideal winter combination.

Nice, if they're fully patterned to the top they can dress up a boot ankle very well too, poking out of the top, or holding the trouser roll when the weather is really mucky. I picked up a great fair isle grey / burgundy pair from D.S.Dundee's Spitalfield store last week, sadly they don't seem visible on their site but was £15 very well spent.
