Chosen as the exhibition to see out 2011, Kindred Spirits, at Peter Blum Soho in New York, focusses on works of the indigenous peoples from the Southwest of the US, and illustrates their influence on modern contemporary art. Traditional paintings, weavings, pottery and baskets are displayed alongside the work of contemporary artists such as Josef Albers, Max Ernst, Agnes Martin, Ansel Adams, Georgia O'Keefe and Jackson Pollock. The show runs until the end of January 2012, and looks well worth an afternoon of your time.
