—01. Blue floral fabric.

Words

Our second delivery from Engineered Garments just arrived and it had some great accessories inside. The shipment also included an olive ripstop Cruiser, broadcloth Classic shirts and a short sleeve camp shirt - but the floral bow ties and pocket squares are looking especially good. The bow ties are hand made in New York and feature some of the collection's finest fabrics.

Agreed. I kind of get the feeling that these wouldn't be so popular if they weren't EG.

Who said they're popular? We've only sold 2! I think they wouldn't be so good if the shape and fabric weren't amazing probably, that's probably a bit more the case.

Have the Workaday BD in the same striped fabric. Really good stuff, supposed to be some of the last of the American-made Brooks Brothers cloth.

Looks dope but I would find it really hard to rock this look.

I know very little about bow ties, I don't wear one, but are these 'clip ons'? Surely a real gent would knot his own bow tie?
February 8, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterBrian Braddock
^Can you 'knot' see the images above?
It's pretty clear they are not clip on ties.

I stand corrected.

Like I said, not my cup o' tea.

Regarding to the question about 'clip ons'.. If you by that mean that you do not have to tie them yourself - then yes, it's a clip on..

On the last picture it is clear to see a little black tip that goes inside the fabric to 'clip' it around ones neck..

A real bowtie (which you would have to tie yourself) woulden't have that. It would just be one hole piece of fabric..

^"The little black tip that goes inside the fabric" allows you to adjust the tie to the desired neck size.

You still have to tie it yourself in the first place.

Granted you could do that once and leave it done up forever, but these do not come pre-tied.
February 8, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterIT'S NOT A CLIP ON!
I'm very reliably informed that this is not a 'real' bow tie. Whilst it is not pre tied, the ability to take it on and off without untying it is considered something of a gentlemanly faux pas.

But really, who cares? It's not often EG get it wrong.

^You're the one chalking up his third comment on the subject, so seemingly you do...
February 8, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterWho Cares?
It's not a clip on! You're a fool not a gentleman.
February 8, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterTom Knox
I do care, I obsess over detail. I was simply trying to diffuse the subject in a gentlemanly manner. I'm English so derive little pleasure from being proved right.

However, Tom informs me that I'm not a gentleman.

Thanks for clearing that up, don't tell the wife.
