Masion Martin Margiela Wool Alpaca Sweater

01

Image

—01. Made in Italy.

Words

This loose gauge knit from Margiela features a mix of wool and alpaca, for a soft, luxurious feel and a casual aesthetic. The crewneck collar, ribbed hem and cuffs, and subtle knit detail across the chest are just enough to make the sweater special, while remaining an easy day-to-day piece.

Workaday for Everyone by JIMA

Words

Shot on the streets of New York City in classic JIMA style, this little EG Workaday feature popped up on the Nepenthes website last week. It probably wasn't intentional, but Down by Law immediately sprang to mind. Click on the link below to see what I mean.

Saint Laurent have done a tasteful job of upgrading the classic creeper style this fall. Made in Italy with premium black suede and a tonal crepe sole, the shoe has an elegant shape, while retaining some of its casual aesthetic.

Relaax

Words

When you cycle through as many bookmarks as I do on a daily basis, it is rare to come across something that stops you dead in your tracks. Relaax, however, is one such website. It immediately greets you with experimental ambient compositions, and the swaying, sweltering work of one of the site's excellent contributors. Created and developed by Joey and Thibaut Villemont, its goal is to be an oasis of sorts, a respite from the fatigue of navigating the often violent landscape of cyberspace. What is absolutely unbelievable is that it totally works. Within seconds of visiting you will find yourself in a completely different, undoubtedly much more relaxed, headspace. Maybe it had a unique effect on me, but I certainly suggest trying it out for yourself.

02. Crew Neck T-Shirt.

Words

With the aim to creating a range of luxury basics, husband and wife team, Esteban Saba and Petra Brichnacova, launched their brand Håndværk last year. The garments have a simple, contemporary feeling, but the label also respects tradition, digging into Saba's family history in the Peruvian textile industry. Made in his home country using high-quality Pima cotton, the T-shirts and sweatshirts are extremely soft and very comfortable.

Iridescent Entities by Katherine Gray

Words

The Grey Area webshop has a nice selection of limited edition artist-designed homewares, clothes and accessories, but none grabbed my attention the way Katherine Gray's iridescent bowls did. A bit like a Ken Price sculpture you can slurp things out of, these are sure to make eating even the stalest cereal a treat for the senses.

Dean Edmonds at J. Glinert & Momosan Shop

Words

Dean Edmonds will be presenting a series of new pieces in an exhibition set to celebrate the opening of the new Momosan Shop on Wilton Way. With a private viewing on October 30th, the works in the show are split between two locations – J. Glinert and their new neighbours – and offer an experiment in steel and a homage to the string chair. Dean himself says that "using an all steel construction the string has become a structural element in turn reducing the structure itself." While the work may appear somewhat brutal on first viewing, Dean's aim is for the structure to "show the beauty and fragility that steel can possess much like the string of the chair that was at first the inspiration." The exhibition will be a great opportunity to view the London-based designer's work in the flesh, while the new Momosan Shop will offer a range of homewares, design objects, printed matter and accessories.
