Founded in 1946, Kleman is renowned for making durable work shoes for French postal carriers and the military. Their presence outside of their home country seems next to nonexistent, but there are a number of Japanese select shops that sell this Tyrolean style as well as a derby option. Both come in at a great price point but it's this attractive chunky design, in navy leather, that really appeals to me.

Following launches of our new issue in Los Angeles and New York this week, on Monday November 24th we will be hosting a party at 0fr in Paris. The evening's soundtrack will be provided by Brian DeGraw (of Gang Gang Dance and bEEdEEgEE fame), while an exhibition of new work by the British artist, and Issue 11 subject, Oliver Payne will be on display in the store's gallery space. A series of two-dimensional works will be on view, while a short film produced especially for the event will be shown throughout the evening, and during the three day exhibition.

The latest collection from Gosha Rubchinskiy includes a lot of fleece and printed pieces, but the highlights are certainly the finer, more mature items. The plaid Wool Coat and multicolour Mohair Jumper are both standout styles.

Until January 18th 2015, the first London exhibition by Dutch artist Viviane Sassen can be seen at The Photographers' Gallery. Focused on her fashion output, it features hundreds of images projected in a loop across the walls and floor of the space. This unique presentation of the work was conceived by Sassen as a way to maximise the scope of the show, while adding an extra visual layer which ties nicely into the astronomical reference used in its title. Rightly regarded one of the most innovative photographers working today, this exhibition is essential viewing for anyone living in London or passing through in the next two months – whether you have an interest in fashion or not.

Sunsea, based in Japan, is a brand I hadn't seen a lot of until I visited Dover Street Market Ginza last week. Included within the emerging Japanese designer section, I was quite impressed with the feel of the garments, the restrained palette, and the interesting silhouettes.

Local History: Castellani, Judd, Stella

To mark the opening of Dominique Lévy's new space at 22 Old Bond Street, the gallery is hosting a group show split between their London and New York locations. Featuring the work of Enrico Castellani, Donald Judd and Frank Stella, the ambitious exhibition, entitled Local History, "captures a fleeting but profound moment of creative intersection in the careers of three exalted post-war artists." Curated by Linda Norden and Peter Ballantine, it runs until January 3rd in New York and January 24th in London. I thoroughly recommend the latter, and have it on good authority that the former is excellent too.

Most everyone at Inventory has recently been gorging themselves on JIMA's series of LOITER zines. Printed on an impressively regular basis, in limited numbers, the books offer a look at the citizens of the world and their environs, through the eye of the New York-based photographer. A perpetual street dweller, JIMA captures the unexpected and interesting, and while many know of him via magazine pages or his regular collaborations with Engineered Garments, it is these candid fieldworks that are the cornerstone of his photographic output. Recent releases include a series shot during Fashion Week here in New York, a trip to Tokyo, and time spent in Germany and Portugal. These books are not only affordable, but also a must-have, and are currently available at Nepenthes New York while supplies last.
