One of the other new and notable shops that recently opened in Vancouver is the Old Faithful Shop. Fortunately for us its quite nearby the Stockroom as we've already been popping in regularly to see the variety of candles, blankets, housewares and printed matter that Walter and Savannah have picked up. The space is amazing by itself, but the lighting, vintage pieces and custom furniture by Walter suit it perfectly. Besides the nice bits for your house or work space, there is a nice selection of publications featuring work from Ari Marcopoulos, Peter Sutherland as well as the Smoke Bath book from Seems.

Mismo Billfold

Mismo have been impressing us with their bags for a number of seasons now, but last time I viewed the collection I was really into the small leather pieces like these wallets. Mismo's card holders and billfolds are definitely in a lower price bracket but still look quite refined.

The Kiefer model from Visvim has always been a bit of an odd one for me. Sometimes it comes in great leathers and suedes and sometimes it comes in materials I'm not a fan of. While the new suede renditions come with an odd Visvim heel detail, I think the overall shoe is very clean and the two colour options are great for the summer. The sand version might even be one of my favorites yet.

It's always been a dream to open a shop and this weekend we finally opened the Inventory Stockroom in Vancouver, BC. Thanks to everyone who came out to the opening on Friday and over the weekend. We are quite happy with how everything has turned out and while there are a few things to finish up, we are proud of our new space, the brands we are working with and to finally share our vision with more people in a new way.

Tembea is a Japanese bag brand I recently came across through the Utility Coop, one of my favorite Japanese online shops. The tough canvas bags come in a lot of different sizes and shapes to fit a big haul of acorns or a healthy supply of baguettes. The bags themselves do look really good, but it was the great product shots that really caught my eye. Something that you don't see all too often, but I really appreciate. The colors and small situations the bags are in just look right and make the product and brand even more appealing.

It's been swim trunk weather in some places recently, unfortunately it's still a little ways away for us in Vancouver. There are plenty of options out there, but most just aren't great. Ralph Lauren is definitely a brand that will come through for you when looking for a classic item however. I quite like the yellow colour and I think they would work well with a white or blue oxford when you leave the pool/lake/shore to run into town.

Makr continue to produce great looking goods that are useful and fairly well priced. The latest edition is the new Farm Ruck which uses natural canvas and beautiful leather accents from Horween's legendary tannery. The colour, details and simplicity all combine for a great looking backpack. It will be coming in three colours and retail for $150 in the near future.
