Lenard Smith, a New York based photographer and a good friend of mine, is trying to publish a book of colour photographs he produced last year during his residency at Light Work in Syracuse. The images "examine the details and fragments of the institutional setting, draw inspiration from the Modernist Movement" and reflect his "interest in several traditions including painting, architecture, interiors and still life compositions." Gitman has a pretty good stake in the men's shirting market now, so why not expand where it makes sense? This spring the American brand has teamed up with one of it's family-brands, Corbin. The use of Corbin's classic bottom manufacturing and Gitman Vintage's use of great fabric appears to have turned out nicely.

We seem to be getting a nice little boost of new summer products just in time for the weather to turn and to keep things fresh. While you can expect to see some new shorts, more knit goods and some new Duluth Packs shortly, you might also noticed we just got a few of our favorite summer pieces back in stock, including the blue Mattalini jacket by Post Overalls. We also received a large re-stock of Velva Sheen pocket tees in oatmeal, grey, white and also a few mixed packs.

Unis Spring Chinos

If Unis was known for one thing in over the past ten years, it's the Gio chinos. The New York brand has since built itself on these great fitting, well made pants. Neighbour recently received a shipment of the pants. The cotton is nicely washed and the tones offer a great variety of spring tones, with a weight that works all year-round.

Recently, during arguably the worst time to open a shop in Japan, Post Overalls opened a small store front in Aoyama, Tokyo. The shop features a full selection of Takeshi's collection, as well as a few special products. As an exclusive for the store, Takeshi and Daiki worked together to create this Engineer jacket. The details are simple and the result is very nice.

We just had our one-year anniversary of the Inventory Stockroom this past weekend. We decided not to make a fuss about it, but we're still happy to have had a fairly successful first year of brick and mortar retail. We appreciate the support from everybody online, overseas and in Vancouver and look forward to a few more years in Vancouver, and hopefully even somewhere new within the next year or two.

Solmate Mixed Socks

A company who knits beautifully constructed socks and accessories "mismatched with care". Each "pair" is knitted at Marianne Wakerlin's family owned mill in Central Vermont using cotton yarns from recycled materials. By doing so they create environmentally responsible cotton products and reduce the amount of virgin cotton that needs to be grown-therefore helping to reduce landfill waste.

Up until now, Kelty's Vintage collection has only been available in Japan. A handful of UK retailers including Oi Polloi and End have recently received a nice little selection of the bags. They are simple, clean and classic. The small Day Pack is one of my favorites, and a bag that I will probably end up purchasing this summer, just need to decide on the color.
