Words

If you're anything like me, you're far too lazy to go all the way to midtown to browse the Tommy Bahama flagship store. So wherever you are, save yourself the consistently horrible experience of leaving your house, and instead buy this beautiful, minimally printed '50s style shirt by Japanese brand Phingerin.

Words

There are an overwhelming amount of attractive '90s styled running shoes on the market these days, and it makes choosing a lot more difficult, especially with almost all brands jumping on board. Adidas Originals, more commonly known for their classic sneaker styles, released the Torsion Allegra earlier this year, and it is a standout as far as retro-inspired running shoes go.

Words

Ideal Cap Company, makers of the Cooperstown brand, have some outstanding baseball hats available for teams that had even smaller followings than the minor league ones. The striped baseball flannel on this example looks great, as does the odd graphic which appears to have belonged to a restaurant-sponsored team.

Words

We've recently received a selection of items from the always magnificent Japanese reproduction authorities The Real McCoy's. We have an array of exceptional T-shirts but the real standouts are always their jackets. We are offering two outstanding reproductions that were worn by United States servicemen during the Vietnam War: one being a black overdyed M-65 Field Jacket and the other a USN Utility Jacket, both replete with all of their original details.

Our designer, Ant Hooper, put me on to this podcast a while ago; I now look forward to it every week and have recommended it to many friends myself. Produced by Roman Mars and funded by the listeners through Kickstarter, the independent show speaks on design and architecture, though not overly specifically, making for a variety of interesting and engaging stories.

Living Concept Organic 3P Socks

01

Words

These socks, made in Japan from predominantly organic cotton, look like they'd be perfectly paired with white sneakers and jeans for the summer. I find the slightly beige colour a better match for lighter footwear than white socks, and the construction and material in this instance seem hard to beat.

These simple bookends, made from folded metal, are currently available in two colours, forest green and navy – a third option, blue grey, having already sold out.
