Heath Ceramics

Back in May, as part of the NoHo Design District event, Heath Ceramics celebrated their ten year anniversary at The Future Perfect store, on Great Jones Street in New York City.
Heath was originally founded in 1948 by namesake Edith Heath, but partners Catherine and Robin Bailey bought and relaunched the company in 2003 – increasing production in the studio and building a fully functioning tile factory, while expanding the retail outreach of the historic company to include a flagship store in Los Angeles.
The show in New York was a way for the company to reach a dedicated East Coast following, and for those new to Heath to learn a little of the company and its history. Alongside molds, the show offered a wall of postcards, each highlighting a specific moment in the company's history, and a bowl created specifically for the show, which was first introduced in 1948 and reimagined in two blue glazes; one laid atop the other. The show at The Future Perfect was only the start of a year of celebrations for the brand, and Heath will continue to acknowledge this milestone with several events planned later in the year in Sausalito and Los Angeles.
