Adam Kimmel For Supreme

Words

The spring collaboration between Adam Kimmel and Supreme has been hyped up enough, but I think the product does deserve a good look. With simple detailing, nice fabrics and a good fit, the two companies have put out a nice product. Especially the navy cotton twill suit, which works nice separately, would prove to be a great piece to have. Read the interviews below, and you can also catch the Adam Kimmel jacket in the spring Supreme editorial in our latest issue of Inventory.

Words

It's no secret that Supreme has launched their spring collection preview, and will be releasing the new items in store this week. The collection, as usual, has some very strong points and a nice variety of easy to wear items. Among my favorites are some of the simple stripe tees, shorts, chinos and outerwear. The Liberty print shirting as well looks great. I've been a big fan of floral shirts this season, but I think Supreme has done a nice job to keep them more wearable.

Supreme Editorial

Words

There have been a good handful of Supreme editorials this fall, each of them very well executed. I wouldn't expect anything less from the NY brand, the subtle variety and use of legendary photographers is impressive. This editorial shot for Warp magazine by Ari Marcpoulos is my favorite however. The use of tone, motion and the styling all came together really nicely to capture a great atmosphere.

Pick Ups

—01. Supreme Book, Vol. 1.
—02. Take Ivy, 2010.

Words

I haven't posted many of the items I've picking up for a while now, mostly because they are almost all from our own store. Recently however I got a couple of books that I'm pretty excited about. It took me a little while to track down the first Supreme Book, but I'm glad I did. Published in 2005, the first edition features the same format as the rest, but has some great photography and nicely catalogs the old releases. I also picked up the re-published Take Ivy. It's so cheap and I'm sure everybody will have it, but that doesn't mean it's not good. I'm still fairly determined to get an original copy someday, but that day isn't today, so this is perfect for now.

Want: Supreme Varsity Jacket

01

Images

—01. Melton wool in cardinal and navy.

Words

I just want this. The colors and styling are great. It would be a tough decision between the two colors for me, but I am leaning towards the cardinal. The Melton wool is great for the months ahead, the color palette perfect and I can already picture some nice fall outfits that would be easy to wear. And for the price, the jacket feels like a pretty fair deal as well.

Ebbets Field Flannels for Supreme

Images

—01. Available in navy, red, green & black.

Words

On my first look through the latest Supreme collection, I managed to not click 14 images deep in one of the hat sections and missed these gems. However, one of the more under the radar collaborations in the fall collection is probably one of my 'must haves'. These Ebbets Field Flannel ball caps are great - simple, good quality, nice wool; add some classic branding on the back and you're all set. Now I just have to decide whether I want the navy or the red.

Supreme Fall–Winter 2010

—01. Supreme FW10 lookbook featuring Jason Dill.

Words

Supreme have just unveiled a solid selection of new items for fall and continue to deliver both the expected and unexpected in equal measure. An interesting variety of fleece and woven goods sit alongside a selection of wool and leather outerwear in a collection that takes cues from New York culture, workwear and classic athletic apparel. These items are brought to life in a beautifully shot and simply styled lookbook featuring Jason Dill. Overall, it's a typically well rounded collection, but I particularly like some of the Varsity inspired pieces and the double knee work pants.

Supreme Book

—01. Now available at Supreme, $68.

Words

As soon as I read about this book coming out it became a must have. There aren’t many brands that have shaped our culture and market place like Supreme. Even growing up out on the West Coast of Canada, Supreme always had a legendary feel and aspect through the bits that could be found at twentyfour or Richard Kidd. Then being able to visit NY, LA and Tokyo in recent years – it was always high on the list. The brand is unique in many ways but the foundation of New York set the tone and allowed the boiling pot to bring influence from all over and channel them into something special. Rather than take photos of all of the pages, I would recommend picking up a copy for yourself.
