For their 22nd collaboration with Iron Heart, Self Edge has produced a 20oz capsule collection in a limited run that includes two styles of jeans, and this superb heavyweight version of the classic 1960s Type III denim jacket. The weight of the fabric may be the most obvious characteristic, but the loomstate denim with grey weft yarns is sure to show some fantastic wear in years to come.

This winter, for the first time, they can be found at one of America's best specialized independent shops, Self Edge. The black Oxford Shoe is the standout from the three models available, which you can find in their Portland and New York stores.

Self Edge is one of my favorite stores in North America. They sell a very focused selection of high quality garments to an educated consumer. Kiya is a smart business man, a funny guy and a passionate retailer. I've had the pleasure of spending a little bit of time with him in the last couple years and it's been exciting to see how fast the Self Edge brand has grown. The most recent development is the opening of their Los Angeles location. The new shop features my favorite layout and space of the three and is situated right on North La Brea Avenue. I'm sure the store will be a success as Self Edge already has a strong market in LA, but it should be exciting to see the new products and brands the store brings in.

I feel like I’ve read a good handful of conversations with the retailer in the last few years, but he’s always working on something new and is just generally an interesting guy.
