Words

January's Free & Easy has just been released and the theme of the latest edition is boots. It's a great issue, and a special one for myself and James as we were both asked to contribute. I was interviewed and James produced a series of portraits. You'll have to pick up a copy to see the former, but here's a selection of James' photographs. Thanks again to everyone who agreed to take part, and to Free & Easy for asking us to be involved.

Every time some someone utters the verb to 'hate on', god kills a kitten.

I don't get why so may people hate on the rolled up pants. It's been done by all kinds of guys from different cultures for decades.

It has become a cliche for people to" hate" on others... all of us had to admit that we liked the rolled up trouser look when it first became popular and now everyone is doing it. What is "original" these days anyways with fashion?

Everyone looks great, always love free and easy

Let's see - 9 out of 10 (excluding Cabourn) have their pants rolled up unnaturally high. I'm not talking about a cuff. That's fine, fair play, dress how you want, blah blah, but let's call it what it is - an affectation, a uniform, boys playing dress-up.

FWIW - I do like other aspects here. Duck pants guy and top black guy own it. The guy in the Cameraman, though, looks like his mum just put him in his outfit for the first day of school.

So I guess it's safe to say that Peter P hasn't been dressing this way for too long...

Also the 90's was technically "decades ago". Obviously not timeless like rolled pants, but you know.

Some people are suggesting these people are dressed by the internet. Almost all of them don't know how to use the internet. Let alone read blogs and forums to dress them. A lot of haters seem to forget there is a whole sphere of people out there involved in fashion who dont pick up on every trend from hypebeast or acl, surprisingly enough. The rolled up trouser thing is an old ivy league thing, and funnily enough, as much as all of you behind you computers may think it, it was not devised by the internet

This rolled pant/trouser/cuff nonsense is ridiculous. It's awesome. Deal with it. It's, as pointed out above, been awesome for a while too. Yes, a lot of people do it now, but a lot of people do a lot of things now, that they might not have used to. Do you really want to get angry at them for trying to make themselves look good? Is it worth your energy?

Hey Captain Original, do you wear a bunch of next level untouchable garments that no one else has ever worn before?

Really; then why are you looking at this website, or reading the mag?

L'uomo Vogue is more for you.

Oh and the reason Simon looks so comfortable in those clothes is that they are surgically attached to his body. They're like a blue and green tattoo. I've seen him sleep in them. He just puts pyjama's on over the top. And even those are made of denim and rip-stop.

There's a scoop for you.

only the azn dudes look fresh-the rest all look like BATTYMEN!

Congrats, guys. Great shots, great looks and, Simon, you own your look.

I don't understand why individuals who disagree with certain aesthetic decisions choose to disparage on blogs that consistently exemplify certain aesthetic decisions...

It's akin to someone complaining about rain after the forecast predicts a monsoon.

And another thing i dont like is the tedious casual use of the term'awesome'----often used for inconsequential things.Landing on the moon was awesome---a pair of jeans aint!!!.

I take it all these dumb comments are coming from
THE U.S OF HATE.
December 9, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterhaight
Who is that black guy with the leather tote on the upper right picture? Seen him around, and he always looks clean and well dressed.
December 9, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterKS

I'm not even going to point out the two huge errors in judgement on your part. I know you're trying really hard, but you need to try a little harder...

As a prominent member of the cuffing community, I find these comments disgusting. I am tired of being discriminated against for how high I choose to roll my pants. I'm declaring Monday 12.13.10 International Pant Rolling Solidarity Day. Please roll your pants - to the knee if possible - on WAYWT across the internet, and wear a yellow ribbon. The hate has to stop. WE ARE ALL MICHAEL WILLIAMS! WE ARE ALL SIMON ROE! NEVER FORGET!

Sorry to interrupt...

KS... That's Jason Jules - talented writer and all round nice guy. And yes, he always looks great.

Okay everyone, carry on...

Z your point is far from valid

Cabourn is nowhere in these pictures and you seem to think he is.

The Great Inventory Turnups Debate.

Funny comments everyone, but shall we get a grip lads?!

I'm rolling mine all the way up to my gonads tomorrow. For all the Americans in the house, that means 'balls'.

PURE BRITISH STYLE.
December 9, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterhaight
Dude, but jeans ARE awesome. Landing on the moon was faked in a warehouse, which is also kind of awesome.
December 9, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterJ.S
Its not a Cabourn Cameraman, its a Nanamica.
