Postalco Goatskin Leather Wallet

01

Image

01. Lined with pig and calfskin.

Words

A wallet seems to be one of those personal items that deserves the extra investment, considering it is an integral element of daily life for most people – almost always being carried on one’s person and organizing the most important tools we interact with: our methods of payment. Try leaving your wallet at home and see how far you get. If I had to choose one basic bifold wallet, it would probably have to be this version from Postalco. The goatskin leather has a nice pebbled texture, not to mention its exceptional durability. Now I just have to bite the bullet and shell out the cash to carry it, seeing as I am in need of an upgrade anyway.

Softcover, unbound

Words

I've been especially interested in collage lately, so it was good to come across this book by Takashi Homma. It features a series of the photographer's prints, which he cut up as part of a two-day event in Tokyo and gave to participants to rearrange. He then photographed the results, some of which can be seen in this publication.

Margaret Howell Spring-Summer '16

01

Images

01-02. Photographs by Yannis Vlamos.

Words

Margaret Howell unveiled their Spring-Summer '16 men's collection in London this morning. Tailored shorts, trousers and jackets worn with classic shirting, knits and rainwear formed characteristically casual looks, many of which featured neckerchiefs and Teva sandals. Colour-wise, crisp whites punctuated a palette that included black, navy and grey alongside a variety of earth tones. To view the show in full follow the link below.

Several; Spring-Summer '15 at Selfridges

01

Image

01. Byron Shirt and Castle Jacket.

Words

One of my favourite retailers is Several, the London-based shop that also produces an in-house clothing line. Earlier in the season they expanded their reach to include an edited selection of items at one of the capital's best known department stores, Selfridges. It’s great to see the brand's continued growth, as they offer some truly classic, understated menswear and I can’t wait to see what they have planned for seasons to come.

Britain's Brutalist Playgrounds

01

Image

01. Park Hill estate, Sheffield, 1962.

Words

"We're familiar with the sight of brutalist towers in Britain, but less well known are the strange playgrounds built at the same time, which are the inspiration for a new installation at the RIBA by the artist Simon Terrill and design collective Assemble. With their rough surfaces and dangerous drops, these surreal concrete structures were very much a product of their time."

Words

After opening one of the brand's most beautiful flagship stores on Melrose Place in Los Angeles, A.P.C. continues to expand on the West Coast. The French label's latest shop is located in the heart of the historical downtown district, built in two identical, adjacent cubic spaces. The two areas partially meet, however there are a pair central totems creating a division between the men’s and women’s collections.

Adidas Originals Campus 80s

01

Images

01. Core Black.
02. Dark Blue.

Words

Campus 80s are regularly available in Japan and Europe, but less so in North America. An iconic silhouette, partially thanks to The Beastie Boys, and probably more so due to their well-balanced design – they're one of my personal favourites. This summer Adidas have released an archive-inspired version of the shoe in arguably the two best colour options: navy and black.
