Sadly the summer in Vancouver has not yet landed, not even really a good dose of spring either. I've been looking forward to riding my bike daily, but the consistent rain has put a damper to my warm weather dreams. Over the last fall/winter, I found a bike the I really like and have slowly been outfitting it with the pieces, including the matching honey saddle and grips - was there really another option?

Looking through the recent update of 45rpm's summer look book, there are a number of beautiful shots, nothing surprising. But this round I actually found that I liked more of the womens looks. The blues, patterns and simplicity were nice, and the garments aren't overly feminine, so I felt they were definitely worth a look.

This project is definitely a little bit unexpected, and could definitely have come out worse. The beautiful surf photography of LeRoy Grannis and the simple nature of Band of Outsiders works nicely on these shirts. While not the most subtle, I think the prints actually work nicely and the colors of the shirts give him a nice summer feeling.

These brogues by Mark McNairy for Norse Projects are the kind of shoes that often go unnoticed. The upper features a combination of pebble grain leather and British Millerain fabric while the Ridgeway sole adds considerable practicality. The result is a subtle mix of tone and texture with a distinct military feel – a measured collaboration that deserves a lot more attention than it's likely to recieve.
