Today, Donald Judd's birthday and exactly three years since the painstaking restoration process began, bookings are being taken for 101 Spring Street ahead of its opening on June 18th. In what has been the main objective and biggest challenge from the outset, visitors will be able to experience the artist's family home and studio from 1968 until his death in 1994 as it was originally installed. Each of the five floors is sparsely decorated with "pieces from his collection of over 500 objects, including original sculpture, paintings, drawings, prints, and furniture designed by Judd and others." Like many, I've been observing this process on visits to New York, and more closely via the Judd Foundation's amazing Restoration Image Newsreel, for some time. Being able to see inside, in person, is something I'm very much looking forward to.

Having worked with Joya to produce two great candle scents in the past, we have now collaborated with the Brooklyn based company to produce some incense. Rolled around a bamboo core and made in the traditional Masala style from white sage, vetiver and cedar, this blend gives off a rich aroma that is said to have spiritual cleansing powers and certain nice vibes.

Christie from the excellent Bags In Progress first brought the work of Satoshi Kawamoto to our attention. Satoshi works as a gardener and landscape artist in Tokyo, where he also operates several of his own Green Fingers stores. In addition he also works as a consultant on all manor of flower and garden related projects; from installations and exhibitions, to retail store concepts, private commissions and weddings. His recently published book Deco Room with Plants, explores all of these endeavors, while also providing a detailed insight into Satoshi's home and his gardening and interior style. We're extremely pleased to offer this book for the first time outside of Japan.
