Nike NSW Tiempo 94

Words

The Tiempo has always been my favourite football shoe by Nike. Released as a part of the brand's build-up to the World Cup in Brazil later this year, the classic black leather and white Swoosh on this updated model are nicely offset by a gum sole.

Words

The William Gibson line by reproduction experts Buzz Rickson's yields some really interesting items that are based on historical garments but add fictional details. This leather N-1 is definitely one of those pieces – making the iconic silhouette out of goatskin leather puts it on another level.

Words

Originally scheduled to run until today, this exhibition, at London's Courtauld Gallery in the north wing of Somerset House, will now be open for another week. It comprises 12 drawings created specifically for the show and while the scale of these works does not compare with Serra's iconic sculptures, the dense compositions – produced on stacks of mylar plastic with black litho crayon – are no less innovative or engaging.

Sanders Joel Chukka Boot

Words

The Joel Chukka, Sanders' version of Hutton's Original Playboy, is a timeless English-made boot. Manufactured in Northampton by a company established in 1873, which has held numerous defence contracts over the years, the style will never lose its allure for the sole reason that it was Steve McQueen's chukka boot of choice.

Brown's Beach Regular Neck Vest

01

Image

—01. Made in Japan.

Words

Made from 73% wool and 27% cotton and woven into a distinctive double-faced single layer, Brown's Beach fabric is an incredibly warm insulating material dating back to 1901. Historic pieces fetch a handsome price on the vintage market, but current reproductions, produced under the original trademark, are very well-made and like early examples in every way.
