Located in Poissy, just outside of Paris, Villa Savoye is considered by many to be one of Le Corbusier's seminal works. The home was designed using the architect's 'five points' method, and is a wonderful example of early modernism. The villa was recently visited by the artist and designer Anna-Sophie Berger and her photographs of the space and its surroundings have now been published online by Purple magazine.

So far this has been a great spring for beautiful lightweight rain gear. MHL did a wonderful, denser version, and the heavily Acronym-inspired Gucci pieces were also nice. Japanese brand Soe has done a nice job combining the better aspects of both of those styles into one. The taped seams and heavier nylon make for a jacket that's sleek, while still retaining its initial purpose – keeping you dry.

Some may ask, why not just get an Anglepoise lamp? It's the most renowned adjustable task light on the market and the design is very similar. I find the Luxo L-1, designed by Jac Jacobsen in 1937, a logical alternative to the spring-balanced style pioneered two years earlier by George Cawardine, and an equally classic example of utilitarian lighting. Variety is the spice of life after all.

I find it very hard to resist an immaculate USN reference like this. The logo is extremely unique and the hat itself features all the right historical details, almost nullifying the steep price for a piece of headwear. Although maybe this only applies to those of us attracted to mid-century American Navy items.
